After nationalization of Insurance companies, mainly LIC employees were its members. The bank has its head office in Bangalore and has one branch in Mysore which was opened in 2001. The Board of Management comprises of 13 elected Directors who are employees of LIC. At present, the Bank has 20 dedicated and young staff and is led by its first female CEO.

The bank has been in the forefront to find solutions to some of the problems faced by the co-operative banks like unjustified audit fee, Loans to Directors of Co-operative Banks, Income tax on co-operative banks etc.. The ideal of Co-operative movement “All for One and One for all” has always been dear to COCB.

The bank promoted a trust “Chaitanya Sinchana”. Through the trust, the bank has been helping children of Government Schools in remote villages by providing them with notebooks, geometry sets, and other writing materials.

Over the years the performance of the bank has grown leaps and bounds. With just Rs.5.22 lakhs deposits in 1975-76, the deposits today stand at 168 crores. The profits during 1975-76 were Rs.1.98 lakhs- today the net profit is Rs.2 Crores after paying Income Tax of Rs. 1 Crore.
